Presto 02811 12-Cup Stainless Steel Coffeemaker It gets the water really hot which is the key to good coffee. I purchased the Presto coffeemaker after trying several very expensive drip machines. For about a quarter of the price, I found that the Presto coffeemaker makes coffee in about the same amount of time but the coffee tastes much better. Also, it keeps the coffee hot for several hours without turning the coffee bitter.
Sleek and elegant design is a bonus. Very fast brewing at 1 cup per minute. After using my coffeemaker for a few months, I bought one for my mother for Mother's Day. Makes a great pot of java. Coffee is rich, frothy and very hot. Coffeemaker is well built and sturdy.
The Regal makes great HOT coffee. I returned the unit for credit, which Amazon handled very promptly. They certainly know how to cut corners to save money and make a profit, but big deal.I found that the stem that holds the basket would not fit in place or stand up. - I feel this is a far superior product, even if it is used. Unfortunately, these are made in China, like everything else these days. I ended up being the winning bidder on a vintage, Regal brand Poly Perk electric percolator on EBAY, made in the USA.
